'Cutting Edge Psychiatry in Practice' (CEPIP) is a journal being published by South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (SEPT)SEPT is one of the largest and highest performing NHS providers in the country of health and social care services for people with mental health problems and people with learning disabilities.

This is a unique initiative, forging partnerships between GPs and Consultant Psychiatrists/allied professionals.  The aim is to publish high-quality peer-reviewed papers that will incorporate the latest advances in psychiatry but will also provide information in a way that is relevant to practising GPs and trainees in their everyday work.

The policy will be that papers, wherever possible, be written jointly by GPs and hospital or community staff, ensuring that both the practical and leading-edge aspects are covered. All articles would go through Peer Review before being published.
